Trio Australia Backorder Policy

Clarity and flexibility – so you stay in control of your order. 

At Trio Australia, our goal is to fulfill every order in full and on time. Occasionally, certain items may be temporarily out of stock when your order is processed.  This Backorder Policy explains what happens when items are short supplied, how freight is handled, and what options are available to you. 

When Items Are Out of Stock… 

If any item in your order is unavailable at the time of picking: 

  • All available items will be prepared for dispatch. 
  • The unavailable item(s) will be automatically placed on backorder to be shipped once stock becomes available. 

Freight Charges – In-Stock and Backordered Items 

For In-Stock Items: 

  • If the in-stock portion of your order is $200 or more (ex. GST): 
    We will ship the in-stock items immediately with no freight charge. 
  • If the in-stock portion is under $200 (ex. GST): 
    You will be contacted before dispatch, as freight charges will apply. 

You’ll be asked whether you’d like to: 

  • Proceed with shipping the in-stock items (with freight) 
  • Hold the full order 
  • Cancel the order 

For Backordered Items: 

  • If the backordered portion is $200 or more (ex. GST): 
    It will be shipped separately at no additional freight cost once available. 
  • If the backordered portion is under $200 (ex. GST): 
    Freight charges will apply, and you will be contacted to confirm how you’d like to proceed.

Your Options When Backorders Occur 

When we contact you regarding a split order, you can choose to: 

  1. Ship in-stock items now 
    → Freight may apply if below $200 
    → Keep or cancel the backorder 
  2. Hold the full order 
    → We’ll wait until all items are available and ship everything together 
  3. Cancel backordered item(s) 
    → Only in-stock items are shipped 
  4. Cancel the full order 
    → No items are shipped or invoiced 

Fulfillment and Communication 

  • You’ll receive tracking details and a tax invoice for each shipment. 
  • Your Trio rep or our Sales Admin team will be in touch if your order needs confirmation due to freight thresholds or product availability. 

Cancelling a Backorder 

You can cancel a backordered item at any time before it is shipped. Simply contact your Trio representative or email sales@trioaustralia.com.au with: 

  • Your account number 
  • Order reference 
  • Items you wish to cancel
